Dr. Susan Sczepanski
Dr. Sczepanski moved to Columbia in 1986 to complete her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and enter the MU College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation in 1991, she moved to Wisconsin for 18 months in mixed animal practice. In 1993, she happily returned "home" to join Horton Animal Hospital-Forum and facilitated its transition from satellite clinic to full-service hospital. She became the managing partner in 1995. With the hard work of Dr. Reisdorf and the rest of the Forum team, she proudly built and opened the new hospital in 2005.
From a young age, Dr. S had an affinity for the non-traditional pet. That has continued into her practice. In addition to dogs and cats, she treats small mammals, reptiles and potbellied pigs. She is an Adjunct Instructor with the MU College of Veterinary Medicine Department of Veterinary Pathobiology and lectures annually at the College of Veterinary Medicine on non-traditional pets and genomics.
Dr. S lives in Southwest Columbia with four dogs, one cat and a very understanding husband, DJ. Her interests include: travel, riding her Harley and music. She is a proud member of the teaching cadre for a Tactical Emergency Medical School that offers continuing education for medics on tactical teams across the nation. Each year Dr. S runs the base camp for Team Sirius, a 40 rider BikeMS cycling team that raises money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She is a member of the Mid-Missouri Community Council for the National MS Society and the Logistics Committee for the BikeMS Gateway Getaway.
